Makeba started her career in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman at the Naval Hospital in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina more than 25 years ago. After serving in the Navy, she advanced her knowledge in the field of sonography and became a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). Makeba is passionate about natural birth, breastfeeding, health/wellness and of course her doTERRA essential oils. She’s a wife of more than 30 years and is the proud mother of 3 adult sons and 2 amazing grandchildren.

Bernard is a former Marine, a motivational & inspirational speaker and works in law enforcement. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Science Management (BSM) and an Associates Art degree (AA). He is passionate about the family and is committed to rebuilding families in urban and suburban communities, both at the local level as well as at the national level. He has an organization called FAST-Fathers and Sons Talk. The focus is defining manhood, rebuilding families and communities. He is a husband of more than 30 years and father of 3 adult sons and 2 adorable grandchildren. Bernard truly believes that the family is the foundation of any strong community.
