Diagnostic ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the body’s internal organs. You will be able to see these ultrasound pictures on a screen during the examination, and they will be recorded for a permanent record. Our radiologists will study these films, then send a report to your doctor. When spending your money for a diagnostic ultrasound, you will no longer be rushed through the procedure. And, the fee for an exam at Ultraview Imaging is over 50 percent less than the common cost of an sonogram at other clinics and hospitals in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Ultraview Imaging employs only registered diagnostic sonographers to perform all diagnostic procedures. Once the diagnostic ultrasound is complete the reports of all findings are forwarded to our supervising physician and the patient’s physician, midwife, or clinic.
Preparation for Exam:
For an abdominal and aorta ultrasound, you should not eat or drink for six-eight hours prior to your examination. Pelvic ultrasounds you should drink at least 32 oz of water 45 minutes prior to exam, keeping the bladder full until after the exam. The only obstetrical ultrasound that is required to have a full bladder is for placenta checks.
